Each year our ward does this thing they call "Christmas of Giving". We have kids from a really poor school come and each youth in our ward is matched up with a child. They take them around to stations in the church. We had five stations, one was dinner, the Nativity room, sweet shop, Santa and crafts, and the store.
They break them up into 5 groups and the kids take their new friend around.
The Nativity: The kids get to act out the story.
Sweet Shop: They decorated a cookie and get to choose a book.
Santa and Craft: hey listened to stories, sat on Santa's knee, had their picture taken,(by me) and made a cute frame for their picture.
Dinner: They ate dinner.
The Store: They chose gifts for their parents, brothers and sisters.
It is really fun and the young men and young women have a great time and learn a lot.
They come by bus and when the bus takes them back their parents are there to pick them up, and they give them a huge basket of food.
The kids come from all over the world. Some don't speak english.
Everyone has a good time.
